NetEnt leaves Canadian market
It has been announced that one of the main producers of online gaming software NetEnt stops to supply its product offering to three Canadian online casino brands – Betspin Casino, Rizk Casino, and Guts Casino.
Gaming Innovation Group, the Maltese gaming organisation, owns these three casinos. The gamblers will still have an opportunity to play games by other manufacturers, but NetEnt titles and bonuses will not be available for them.
Internet gaming laws in Canada are a bit fuzzy. Officially, provincial gambling operators offer such services to gamblers, while the international providers can do this only if they do not have offices within the country.
Due to such judicial fuzziness, no one is surprised by the fact that some of the eGaming operators prefer to leave the local market. We mean that NetEnt has not been the only such company to leave Canada. The India gambling giant William Hill closed its operations in the Indian Columbia province in May.
This happened on the 10th of May when the provider informed its customers about the regulatory reasons that were beyond their control. All the gamblers were able to withdraw their funds whenever they wish.
William Hill is not the only provider that made this step. Ladbrokes also did the same two years ago but without any explanations. In 2011, Paddy Power withdrew from Canada and late in 2015, Betfair followed it.
NetEnt software producer did not provide its services only in Canada. This Swedish manufacturer has recently offered its products to some of New Jersey’s largest casinos. This state is among the three states of the US that provide their residents with igaming entertainments. The other two are Delaware and Nevada.
Not long ago at the Pavilion at the Tower of London, the Swedish supplier of innovative gaming content scooped three awards. NetEnt obtained the awards in such categories as the RNG Casino Supplier, Innovation in Mobile, and Innovation in Slot Provision.
