A charity casino night for Crisis organized by Jeremy Reeve

Jeremy Reeve has been busy with volunteer work during holidays in the centers for homeless charity Crisis in London for the last 5 years.

This time he intended also to raise money for them, so thanks to his friends and business partners he introduced a star studded night in the casino Grosvenor at Barracuda Centre during six weeks and gathered £3,153.20

Mr Reeve from Ely, who is a managing director of PowerPackXL in Cambridge, commented: “I can’t believe we pulled it off. Within days of suggesting a charity night I had friends hitting their phones and Facebook calling in favours, offers of prizes, the response was overwhelming.”

He invited the outstanding representatives from the spheres of TV and cinema, songwriter and singer Angie Brown, Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor stars as well as reality TV stars.

Among the lots of the charity auction were prizes from the Blues and Royals Household Cavalry, from BMW in Cambridge and even a dinner with champagne for 4 with Peter Stringfellow.

Mr Reeve explained: “It was a great atmosphere. Having a lot of singers there meant it turned into a bit of a karaoke night – but with a difference. It was a proper feel good night which helped a charity I feel very strongly about.”

Jeremy Reeve has been the member of the charity center Crisis for 5 years, two of which he worked in the center in Beckton and three on Hackney. The Hackney center works from December 22 to 29 and here all the homeless can find food, medical care and supports, watch films on a large cinema screen and find a listening ear.

“It is not just homeless who come along it is the vulnerable or those on very low incomes, these are people who genuinely have nothing, but are grateful for everything, the community spirit and atmosphere at these centers is beyond words. For me it gives Christmas meaning,” Reeve stated.

As Mr Reeve revealed, the center at Hackney is in East London and more than 1,500 homeless people found here hot food, medical aid, clothes and company to feel themselves comfortable at Christmas.
